WHEN WITCHES GO RIDING AND BLACK CATS ARE SEEN

My first year ever decorating for Halloween! Which is kind of hard to believe. I’ve always loved this holiday, at least in a pg-13, I enjoy spooky vibes and Practical Magic, anything Tim Burton and just October in general. I’m not very big on ACTUALLY being scared but Halloween is fun nonetheless. It also helps that my daughter is completely obsessed. She’s been playing with the fake spiders (she doesn’t get that from me), we’ve watched A Nightmare Before Christmas daily and she calls our skeletons her little buddies.

I knew I wanted a very specific vibe. I don’t like big box store Halloween decor, but more so a victorian antique / this house feels creepy sort of vibe. We went with floating candles (a nod to our beloved Harry Potter and also Viv’s costume this year). Lots of candles, skeletons and skulls, dried flowers and lots of webbing.

Outside we went with “floating witch hats” and more skeletons and webs, and to my own suprise we went for orange lights! Rhiannon from 10 year ago would of called that tacky, but I actually really love the way it turned out. (Old Rhiannon didn’t know enough..)
