VINTAGE HEADBOARD REVEAL

VINTAGE HEADBOARD REVEAL

Out of pure luck and kindness, WE HAVE A HEADBOARD. I created a mood board years ago for this room, which featured a bright pink/orange statement headboard from Anthropologie in a very similar shape. I thought I was dreaming as it was way out of our budget, but apparently I was manifesting. Our friends mom is an upholsterer, found this beauty thrifting and felt a need to bring it back to life but didn’t have anyone in mind for it. They recommended us and man are we thankful.

Remember how I wrote a blog post about finally figuring this room out? Well, turns out as soon as I think that I change my mind about something. I’m still in love with the paint but playing with so many of the small details that feel very up in the air. In all honesty, I love the headboard and the color is very much on brand and fun; however I don’t love the matchy matchy feel with the rug printed ottoman at the end of the bed. They almost look like they came together, which to some people would be a positive but for me it just kind of lessens the “cool.” So, I’m debating reupholstering the headboard to something printed or swapping the bench with another / something vintage.. but while I figure it out this is certainly an improvement.

We’re also playing with the mirrors a bit. As much as I love my vintage ones, the shape felt a little repetitive next to the headboard. Bringing in an oversized round shape helps the flow and adds a bit of modern to the vibe. So as usual: never finished but that what keeps it fun right?
