DIY DRIED GRAPEFRUIT ORNAMENTS

We have been so busy in this season of life! If you follow along on Instagram then you know we recently became parents for the first time to one sweet little girl. Christmas decorating has been a much slower process this year but it’s completely worth it.

Something fun we decided to try this year is dried grapefruit. I’ve admired dried orange garlands for years but for our own home felt they always looked a little too muted and yellow. We happened to have grapefruit in the fridge and I decided why not, let’s try!

HOW TO:

Step 1. Thinly slice grapefruit

Step 2. Pat dry with paper towel / try to push out as much juice as possible.

Step 3. Lay directly onto oven racks

Step 4. Bake at 200” Convection for 2 hours

Step 6. Flip, bake 2 more hours

Step 7. Let sit out overnight on a cookie rack

Step 8. Add to a garland, or as ornaments on a tree!

We absolutely love the way they turned out and what a wonderful affordable way to decorate for the holidays.
