PRIMARY BEDROOM UPDATES
I somehow don’t have a single post on this entire blog dedicated to our primary bedroom. I’ve painted this room 5 times since we’ve lived here. It’s been Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue, Classic Grey, half Classic Grey half Wrought Iron, all Wrought Iron but white trim and ceiling. I’ve struggled with this room more than most. It’s never felt done. It’s always missing something; and while it’s still missing things (a bed frame / headboard, a good light, a giant mirror, a lot of vintage, books stacked everywhere) for the first time since we moved in 3.5 years ago it feels really, really good.
A trick I learned from Alisa Bovino @aglassofbovino - we decided to paint it all one color, ceilings, trim, everything. We’ve done this in 3 rooms now and I swear I’m tempted to do the whole house. It makes the most rich, luxurious impact on a room and it feels double in size. Also by taking away the harsh white contrast this color has transformed into the most beautiful muted black/blue/charcoal and no longer looks so stark.
