LATEST ON THE LIVING ROOM
After a good year we finally finished the other half of the wallpaper in the living room! Things take time around here, especially with our toddler running around.
It feels cozy, complete and exactly how we hoped it would. While we were installing it, we had set up our work table behind our vintage sofa. I do a lot of daydreaming and visualizing while we work and kept thinking, “why do I like this table here so much?” (It was an ugly plastic one..) But it set in motion in my brain the idea of fitting a desk into this space.
I have an office nook upstairs but truth be told, my office hours are usually at night these days and after a long day with Viv I rarely want to sit up there. I want to be in my favorite room, with my comfort shows on in the background. We decided to pull with sofa table from the other side of the room and give it a shot; and I love it!
It’s a perfect size for a laptop and some books, and I’ve actually find I sneak more office time in because I can pop on quickly while we’re hanging out in the living room.
Living small usually means multifunctional spaces; so our living now operates as: family time, a play room and an office. We love it though. That quote that goes “love grows best in small houses” rings very true to my ears.
Next up is to tackle painting this white trim something a bit softer, add crown molding and eventually run some vintage runners up those stairs.
